My Fat Fingers Inspired my Latest Book!

My latest book THE CRYSTAL FIG AFFAIR involves a diamond ring that seems to carry an old magical curse. The whole story was inspired one day when I tried to get my wedding ring off my finger and it wouldn't budge.

The most obvious idea that my fingers were too fat was unthinkable-LOL! I decided that it would be much more dramatic and intriguing if a terrible curse kept it on my hand instead of my long-time love of doughnuts.

And so THE CRYSTAL FIG AFFAIR was born. My heroine, Ellie, goes to great lengths to get the ring off, all the time refusing to believe in anything as incredible as a curse. As for me, I was forced to go on a diet, and I'm happy to say after a few pounds the ring came off!

Happy Holiday and New Books!

Happy Holidays to one and all! This is such a busy time of the year, so I hope everyone is taking time to relax and enjoy some quiet time in the middle of all the fuss and frivolity that surrounds us. I still have most of my shoppng to do, almost all of my gift wrapping awaits, and cooking and bakiing loom large in the near future. But my son, his wife and my granddaughter will be visiting from Ohio, so all of my kids will be home in Texas this year. That makes everything perfect!

Extra! Extra! Hear All About It!

Long ago, far away, and once upon a time, I said I was going to start a newsletter to reach out to readers and communicate important upcoming announcements about my books. Well, that time has arrived! My newsletter is here!

On another note, I just voted early and when I walk out of the polling place, I always feel such a sense of satisfaction even if my candidates don't prevail. My husband and I went on his lunch hour and took our three year old grandson along. He got a sticker and loved it! I like the stickers, too.

So now we are off for a week at the beach. I'm ready for some rest, relaxation and maybe a frozen bevarage or two! I'll post some pictures next week.
